Mon Coach IG Bas v5.2.0
Pierre MOATIAbout this app
Mon Coach IG Bas is a specialized health and fitness app designed to help users with low GI diet and low CG, providing a unique coaching experience. This app is likely to benefit individuals who require a structured approach to managing their diet and health, particularly those with specific dietary needs or restrictions. Compared to other health and fitness apps, Mon Coach IG Bas stands out with its focused approach, but its limited user base and lack of rating data may raise concerns about its overall effectiveness. The app's paid model, without ads or in-app purchases, ensures a clutter-free experience but may deter some potential users due to its upfront cost.
Pros
- The app's specialized focus on low GI diet and low CG makes it an excellent choice for users with specific dietary requirements, offering a tailored coaching experience.
- With no ads or in-app purchases, the app provides an uninterrupted and user-friendly experience, which is a significant advantage for users seeking a distraction-free health and fitness tool.
- The developer's decision to charge a one-time fee of $3.99 may indicate a commitment to providing quality content without relying on aggressive monetization strategies.
- The app's offline capability, implied by its lack of required permissions, means users can access its features without an internet connection, enhancing its usability in various scenarios.
- Given its small size and the developer's email being provided for contact, there's an indication of a personal approach to user support, which can be beneficial for users needing assistance or having feedback.
Cons
- The lack of user rating data and a relatively low number of downloads may raise concerns about the app's effectiveness and popularity, making it harder for potential users to gauge its quality.
- The app's specialized nature might limit its appeal to a broader audience, as its focus is on a specific aspect of health and fitness, potentially making it less versatile than more comprehensive apps.
- Without more information on the developer's update frequency or long-term support plan, users might be concerned about the app's future relevance and compatibility with upcoming Android versions.
- The absence of a developer website might make it more challenging for users to find additional information, support, or community resources beyond what's provided in the app itself.
Best for: The ideal user for Mon Coach IG Bas is an individual, likely between the ages of 25 and 55, who is highly motivated to manage their diet for health reasons, has a basic understanding of nutritional principles, and is seeking a structured, yet personalized approach to achieving their dietary goals without being overwhelmed by a broad range of features or distracted by advertisements.
Developer Description
My Coach IG Netherlands, help health tool for low GI diet and low CG
Once the application has been downloaded to your phone, you can take it anywhere with you and consult it without an internet connection (excluding food scanners).
The program offers 4 main sections:
► Items:
This new section was eagerly awaited by my users. This includes explanations of the notions of IG, CG and will expand over time.
► Power supply:
This section includes more than 530 foods, each with its glycemic index (GI when known.
The food sheet contains a lot of information (depending on the food):
• the glycemic load (per 100 g, for one portion, and the maximum recommended portion)
• health benefits
• information on the season and how to choose your fruit or vegetable
• recommendations, tips, alerts, advice…
• nutrients (minerals, vitamins, lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, fibre, salt, etc.)
• similar products (eg wheat flour, chickpea flour, rye flour, etc.)
• by-products (eg potatoes, fries, mashed potatoes, crisps)
• "normal" portions
• And many more…
► Recipes:
More than 600 recipes (with glycemic load) will allow you to make good dishes without feeling guilty because they are generally compatible with the main diets with a low Glycemic Index, or are based on the Glycemic Load (low carbs, Paleolithic diet, the Montignac Method , the new GI diet, the new Atkins diet, Doctor Cohen's program, the Weight Watchers point system, recommendations from Professor Jennie-Brand Miller and cardiologist Pierre Nys, ...)
► Food scanner (requires internet connection):
Scan the barcode on the food package to find out what's inside. If the product is referenced on Open Food Facts, the list of ingredients will be retrieved and the glycemic index will be displayed in front of each ingredient, making it easier to detect harmful foods such as E190d (caramel), maltodextrin or even glucose-fructose syrup… The scanner tries to estimate the glycemic index as well as the glycemic load of the scanned food!
Here are some use cases explaining how to use the application:
- You are in a restaurant and you hesitate between a side dish of potatoes or green beans? A quick glance will allow you to make the right choice.
- You do not remember the glycemic index of the apple? The food chart will answer this question.
- Is having an orange juice for breakfast a good idea? This answer can be found in the application
- Do you go shopping and, passing in front of a moussaka, you wonder if it is beneficial for your health? A quick scan of the barcode will bring out any hidden foods that are sometimes harmful to health or weight loss.
- You want to eat well but you don't know what to prepare? More than 600 recipes await you in the application
- You are abroad and your usual applications do not work without internet? No problem, "My Low GI Coach" won't do you any good.
In short, you will have understood it, My Coach IG Bas is the essential application to accompany you everywhere and advise you on good food choices!
The application is regularly updated and new features are still to come!
Although this application is not directly intended for diabetics, it can help to choose the right foods based on the GI and CG.
This application does not replace medical monitoring.
Privacy
Given that Mon Coach IG Bas does not require any permissions, it poses minimal risk to user data and privacy, which is a significant advantage. However, users should still be cautious when using any health and fitness app, ensuring they understand what data is being collected and how it's used, even if implicitly through the app's functionality. It's also crucial to keep the app updated to ensure any potential security vulnerabilities are addressed.
Tips
To get the most out of Mon Coach IG Bas, users should start by thoroughly exploring the app's features and settings to understand how it can be tailored to their specific dietary needs. Setting reminders and notifications can also help in maintaining a consistent regimen.
