The New International Version (NIV Bible) is an evangelical Spanish translation of the Bible. This version is translated directly from Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek sources. (It's the same as NIV, only in Spanish).
The manuscript basis for the Old Testament was the Masoretic Hebrew Text of the Bible Hebraica Stuttgartensia. Other ancient texts consulted were the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Samaritan Pentateuch, Aquila, Symmachus and Theodotion, the Latin Vulgate, the Syriac Peshitta, the Aramaic Targum, and for the Psalms, the Juxta Hebraica of Jerome. The manuscript base for The New Testament was the Koine Greek edition of the United Bible Societies and Nestle-Aland. The deuterocanonical books are not included in the translation.
The translation aimed to preserve the original language, but taking into account the modernization of the language to be able to update certain words and phrases without changing the original meaning.
