Blucifer: Doom Horse of Denver is a unique arcade game that brings a piece of public art to life, offering an entertaining experience for fans of quirky games. This app solves the problem of monotony in the arcade genre by providing a fresh and humorous take on destruction games. It benefits users looking for a lighthearted, easy-to-play experience without the burden of in-app purchases or ads. Compared to other arcade games, Blucifer stands out with its simple yet engaging concept, though its limited content might fall short for players seeking more complex gameplay.

Pros

  • With a near-perfect user rating of 4.9/5, Blucifer demonstrates high user satisfaction, indicating a well-designed and enjoyable game.
  • The absence of ads and in-app purchases enhances the user experience, allowing players to focus on the game without interruptions or additional costs.
  • The game's small size and lack of permissions required suggest efficient development and a low risk of privacy concerns.
  • The developer's decision to charge a one-time fee of $1.99 for the app ensures that users can enjoy the game without worrying about future transactions or advertisements.
  • The game's offline capability, implied by the lack of internet permissions, makes it accessible for play in any setting.

Cons

  • The limited number of downloads, currently over 100, might indicate a smaller community and less feedback for the developer to improve the game.
  • The game's simplicity, while a pro for some, might not appeal to players seeking more complex or challenging arcade experiences.
  • There is a potential for the game to become repetitive, as the core concept, while unique, might not offer enough variety for long-term engagement.
  • The developer's website and support email, while present, do not offer extensive resources or community engagement opportunities, which could be a drawback for some users.

Best for: The ideal user for Blucifer: Doom Horse of Denver is likely someone aged 10 and above, with a penchant for quirky, easy-to-play arcade games, who values ad-free and interruption-free experiences, and is looking for a unique, humorous take on the destruction game genre without the need for complex gameplay mechanics or high-end graphics.

Developer Description

The infamous blue demon horse from Denver comes to life to destroy the city!

Anxiously I fly,
apocalyptic hell beast
fails to soothe my nerves.

All ye who enter Denver via airplane must meet the penetrating glowing scarlet gaze of "Blucifer", the 32 foot tall blue horse sculpture that keeps ominous watch over the gateway to the Rocky Mountains.

Some believe the fact that its creator died while sculpting it is a sign that it is an evil, cursed herald of apocalypse, and part of a larger nefarious underground conspiracy. Others maintain it was just an unfortunate coincidence, and simply a lifeless sculpture. Regardless of what you believe, one thing is for certain... the ominous presence of this sculpture is anything but welcoming, and deserving of its local moniker of "Blucifer".

But... what if it's true...?

Could it be? What if its terrible gaze really is a vessel for ancient, unspeakable evil? What if Denver is intended as ground zero for the apocalypse?!

An extraordinary lightning storm awakens the Evil within Blucifer, freeing him to rampage through the Mile High city. Blucifer will destroy everything in his path, consuming the Souls of the Innocents along the way. How long will his trot of terror last?!

It's super rad to basically trace my route to work destroying things as I go, but I wish I could turn the sound off! I would play more if I could listen to my own music, like right now, as I'm riding in a bus on 1-25, also, where is Cap Hill? Nothing south of Colfax? East of Downing? If Lakewood gets to be included we definitely need to have city park!
