Wildfrost users say on Google Play
After spending most of the past year trying as many roguelike deck builders I could get my hands on, I'm happy to say that Wildfrost might just be my favourite. The depth of mechanics, customization, and perhaps the most complexity in the genre makes this game an absolute win for me! The combos that both you and your enemies can create are so much fun. Add in a phenomenal soundtrack, an amazing artstyle, and fantastic sound design, and this is a must-buy in my opinion!
While I adore the silly cartoon randomness and the breadth of the strategies and tactics one can employ, I have consistently ran into issues with trying to boot the game up; if it can load past the title screen, I'm golden, but at ANY point it may just crash and I'm back to the home screen, to say nothing of the heat and power drain. I want to love this game more, and I imagine the PC experience would have been leagues better, but the mobile version is horribly unoptimized and needs work.
I really enjoyed this game on PC and it works really well as a mobile game too. The only problem is it has a pretty bad battery draining bug. Playing the game doesn't use too much power with the framerate limited and screen brightness down, then my phone will suddenly get hot and start draining the battery fast. Even after closing the game it will keep draining until the battery is dead or I restart the phone. This never happened before and only happens during or just after playing this game.
The game itself is fantastic by its NEEDS better optimization. I have more graphically intensive games than this, but they don't take up as eat up the battery as fast, nor do they make my phone heat up so bad.
This is disappointing. The artists, musicians and planners clearly care and are talented. The card game is solid. But the software developers are complete amateurs. You have to two finger tap cards to check them. The icons are half a centimeter wide. And you can't move forward in the second tutorial without doing so. There was no way to position my fingers to get them both on an icon that small. It's unplayable.
