About this app

The SunScool app effectively addresses the need for engaging educational content for children, particularly in the realm of biblical studies, by offering animated Bible stories and accompanying puzzles. This app benefits parents and educators seeking to teach religious values in an interactive manner, standing out in the Game Educational category due to its unique blend of entertainment and learning. Compared to alternatives, SunScool's ad-free and in-app purchase-free model is a significant advantage, enhancing the user experience. However, the app's limited scope might make it less versatile than some competitors.

Pros

  • With over 500,000 downloads and a 4.7/5 rating, SunScool demonstrates significant social proof and user satisfaction, indicating a well-designed and effective educational tool.
  • The absence of ads and in-app purchases ensures an uninterrupted learning experience, aligning with the developer's mission to provide quality educational content without monetization pressures.
  • The app's requirement for no permissions is a notable pro, suggesting a secure and private experience for users, as it does not collect or store any personal data.
  • The developer's reputation, as evident from their official website and support email, suggests a commitment to user support and potential for future updates and improvements.
  • Given its offline capability implied by the lack of permissions, SunScool can be used in various settings, including areas with limited internet access, making it a versatile educational tool.

Cons

  • One concern is the app's limited scope, focusing solely on biblical stories and puzzles, which might restrict its appeal to a broader audience interested in a wider range of educational topics.
  • The lack of information on the app's update frequency could raise concerns about the developer's commitment to maintaining and expanding the app's content over time.
  • Although the app does not require any permissions, the absence of detailed information on data collection and privacy policies might still raise some Privacy concerns for cautious users.
  • Users looking for a more comprehensive educational experience might find SunScool's focus too narrow, potentially limiting its long-term engagement value.

Best for: The ideal user for the SunScool app is a parent or educator of children in the age range of 4-12, who is looking for an engaging, ad-free, and interactive way to teach biblical stories and values, and is comfortable with a focused educational tool that prioritizes privacy and user experience.

Developer Description

Animated Bible Stories & puzzles about them!

Have you ever wondered who God is and wanted to know more about Him?

In 1958 there was a girl living in a remote village in Ireland. This girl wanted to learn more about God, but there was no Sunday School nearby for her to go to. So a young missionary couple, Bert and Wendy Gray, started corresponding with her by mail, sending her Bible lessons each month. Over time these lessons evolved into an extensive course of weekly fun-filled activity work sheets, covering the main Bible stories from Creation through to the early Church. And is now used by hundreds of thousands of children around the world from pre-school age right up to 16.

SunScool converts the lessons from this course into fun and interactive stories and puzzles. These text based puzzles help us to learn and understand some of the most important truths about life by heart.

Puzzles/games include:

- Fill in missing words by dragging pictures.
- Word search
- Unscramble words or letters
- Sea-battle - reconstruct text and improve your score by playing faster
- Crosswords
- Pop bubbles to type a text and improve your score by choosing certain colors
- Color pictures
- Many fun ways to choose or highlight the correct answer

The original paper course is called Bibletime and is available to download free of charge from besweb.com

This app has 4 options for learning the Bible, depending upon your age range. The more you learn, the more puzzles you can do. The only glitch I found is that the printed lessons are not available in english. But most members just want to do it through their phone anyway.

It was working really well and then suddenly it stopped working properly. the sounds have gone all staticky. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and it's still the same, everything else is working fine so I know it's not the phone. I do hope you can fix this glitch, my kids and I have really enjoyed using this app.
