One would need the Photo Complication App from the same dev [dunno if any other apps support this particular feature] to set custom backgrounds. There are two complication slots(viewable) available and the AOD is a dark digital watch face. I wish, however,that the dark circular background on each custom complication could be removed (maybe made more translucent?). That would make the background standout more.

Was nice. Now, not so much. After doing an update, the background is now just black and will not update back to image

Does not let you choose your own photo 😒 Edit after comment from developer: The app name is misleading.. any normal person would assume "photo watch face" would mean use your own photo 🤦🏻‍♂️
