The AUDI UTR app features a control interface, designed for the UTR.

The Audi Universal Traffic Recorder App (“UTR App”) is only for use in combination with the Universal Traffic Recorder (“UTR/Dashcam”) of Audi Genuine Accessories. Its capabilities include live viewing, data management, a car finder function and being able to adjust the recorder‘s settings. All functions of the Audi UTR app require a Wi-Fi connection between the Universal Traffic Recorder and a smartphone.

Installation of the UTR cameras is easy with car specific cable, which is not part of Audi UTR package. Had issues that camera didn't connect to my phone by Wifi, but it works now. The app is okay now.

since update, big improvement. you can now view video in phone gallery, this in turn creates a folder with the video file in it, which means you can now share it very easy to different places, via email, whatsapp etc. reason for only 3 stars at the moment, is because if you own the Rear view this still has the same problem, you can only see Rear view recording from in the app itself. the reason is the recordings are done within the same file and split into two channels. 5 stars if this is fixed.

If you're considering installing the Audi UTR, don't waste your money. As a basic dash cam, its OK. Resolution is good and it has all the usual features. But for £450, it's not worth it. The app struggles to connect - I've yet to successfully connect first time. I've no idea what half the settings are as the manual is sparse and it comes with a tiny 8gb SD card, which will record 15-20 mins at most. This is some OEM camera they've badged and you'd be far better off looking elsewhere.

Frustrating!! Has potential though! WiFi disconnects frequently when connected to the dashcam, making watching video difficult. App not updated very often it seems! They need to get on top of this and fix it! It has potential but it doesn't seem like it's much of a priority. App itself doesn't look bad but whether it's a software or hardware issue it needs to be fixed! App tries to run on the phone all the time!
