I received one for gift, worked great for a few months then the camera would not detect movement. I contacted customer service and they corrected the issue after trouble shooting, by sending me a new feeder. They were very quick to take care of the problem. Love the feeder. Have the solar charge and it keeps the battery charged no problem. Next on my list is the birdhouse with camera!
Pretty good app! I was surprised. However I can no longer rewind or fast forward the clips it records, which is frustrating. The Identification can be hit or miss but it's usually consistent for me. Some wild one-offs (mysterious arctic birds when I'm in central USA) but other than that, it's usually consistent. Sometimes it gets sparrows confused (i.e. Chipping Sparrow vs. House Sparrow) but so do I.
The images are good, but not great, when the camera is connected, but it seems to drop the connection. Some of that could be the recent storm-related power outages. But, it doesn't explain the lack of live views when tapping a pop-up notice of activity. I believe the app could be improved. The USB cord from the solar panel to the camera should be armored against squirrels and other pests.
Setup and connection went ok, but the app itself is very buggy. Lots of issues with it remembering birds and listing the correct ones. Birds that have been recognised, tagged and collected can disappear completely. Incorrectly tagged birds are impossible to remove. Counts are incorrect .. it says "6 birds" then lists 5. Lots of bugs.
Trying to set it up now and the camera is making an annoyingly loud chime noise with no way to turn it off. And it won't let me scan the QR code. What did I just waste my money on??
