For over 300 years, this Bible was the only Catholic English translation of Scripture used. Still considered one of the most faithful and relevant Catholic Bible translations today. Adding to this treasure is the male British accent of the reader. It's an old recording digitally transferred from cassette tapes.

4 stars for such a unique find and absolutely delightful voice for the reader. I assume the recording was produced a long time ago and you can hear the white noise in the background (which is pleasing to me). Thus far in the old testament every word is identical. Occasionally in the new testament there is a slightly different word. Could be my specific version of the Douay. Overall great app with a great sound to the most faithful (in my humble opinion) translation.

Glad to find this after searching for it. Very affordable. However, the app itself needs some help. If you listen to a chapter of any book, the app updates all the other books as if you listened to the same chapter in that book, which spoils the auto play function from chapter to chapter. I finished Genesis just to find all other books were marked complete. Also, ch6 of 1 paralipomenon is actually a copy of ch1. Please fix this.
