Just downloaded this app. Took about 5 minutes. Open app and all 846 trees in the list. Use Huawai Y9 Prime phone. Beautiful pictures and descriptions. Good app and money well spend. Do nit know why people give negative comments.
Enjoy it quite a lot, but hope for updating to newer versions because technology always move forwards and it seems as if new phones might not always be able to handle old versions. Only have 825 of the promised 845 trees
This is really a helpful app to identify trees. The problem is that I could not find some familiar trees in the app. It is not a complete list of trees.
I'm critical based on high price, but the I will keep the app anyway (I'm a biologist). Serious flaws: the smart search key is good but yields a final list of common names only, with no thumbnails - i.e. basically unusable, esp for big groups. Full spp. lists are by family (good) but families are not alphabetical (TERRIBLE) Cannot search by family I.e. if you don't already know genus/name you won't find tree No distribution maps Images not well optimised and far less clear than the book at the same size.
Very limited number of trees (80) in their database. Not a complete list of South African trees and will frequently look for trees that they don't have listed. The app was last updated more than 5 years ago. The images and description of trees on their database is very interesting though.
