About this app

Fire prevention and alert

Fire Chaser is a free mobile application developed for residents of the Bouches-du-Rhône region, responding to the need to inform the general public of the occurrence of a fire and its progress.

NOTIFICATIONS

You are alerted in real time through notifications that allow you to track the progress of a fire.

When an event occurs, you receive a notification and are informed that a follow-up has begun in the app. You can choose to no longer follow this event and thus unsubscribe from all future updates regarding this follow-up.

Events are sorted by their last update, and their presentation thumbnail contains several pieces of information:
- The date it was created in the app;
- The title of the event;
- The status, which also assigns its color;
- The number of community contributions;
- The number of shared items;
- And the date of the last update.

An icon at the top of the thumbnail allows you to share the event with someone (via text message, Messenger, WhatsApp, etc.).

There are three statuses for an event (fire) reported in the app:

🔴 In progress: the fire has just started or has been ongoing for several minutes/hours.

🔵 Under control: the fire is no longer raging, some hot spots are still visible, but the firefighters are in control of the situation.

⚪ Over: the fire is being extinguished or extinguished. This color indicates that the association has stopped covering the incident.

EVENT FOLLOW-UP

By clicking on the thumbnail presenting an event, you can access the event's tracking details and new information:

The first tab displays all information related to the event's progress in chronological order.

You can share information by clicking the share icon in the top right corner of each item in the news feed.

Event updates can include photos and external links.

The second tab, titled "Map," allows you to precisely locate the event on a map.

REPORTING AND CONTRIBUTION

You can report a fire or contribute to an event directly in the app. By clicking on the flame icon, fill out the form and share your information. Our administrators will review it before sharing it with the community. If necessary, a chat can be initiated to obtain more information, with an automatic notification to access it in the app menu.

PREVENTION

You can easily access safety instructions related to the specific territorial features of the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the ANNOUNCEMENTS section, as well as the forest access map updated by the prefecture.

PROJECT

Some advertisements support the development of the app. They are displayed at launch to be as non-intrusive as possible.

The Fire Chaser app is developed by Dealcover, a local company specializing in the design and development of innovative mobile and web projects.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Reporting a fire should be done primarily with the emergency services.
It is possible that a fire may occur and not be recorded in the app.
The app is a communication tool for the association and in no way replaces the safety instructions shared by public authorities, which you should follow as a priority.

Fire Chaser actively communicates with emergency services.

Fire Chaser is not a government entity. We help relay certain prevention or information messages from public authorities to increase their reach to the general public.
