Strikeman v2.1.75
Strikeman USA, Inc.About this app
Developer Description
Firearm Training
The app is composed of 3 sections:
Section 1 – Training
The training section is the initial area of the app where the user can practice their shooting skills. Upon beginning a session, a warning screen is shown to ensure that proper firearm safety is taking place before beginning a session. Once the user agrees, the target appears on the screen. The user calibrates the screen to the target by using two fingers to cover the circumference of the target. Then, the distance from the target is selected and they can begin shooting. Each shot from the firearm triggers a laser, which emits a laser strike on the target, and the app records the score. Shooting metrics appear on the screen to show the user how they are doing during the session. This is accompanied by audio. Once the session is complete, all shots will be shown on the target and saved into an archive.
Section 2 – History
The history section provides screenshots, shooting metrics, and graphs for the user to track their progress. This includes average score, average range, total shots and total sessions. The information is presented on a histogram and a pie chart. This information is saved in an archive.
Section 3 – Settings
The settings section allows the user to turn on/off gun shot audio and voice feedback. Users can toggle the distance metric, selecting either feet or yards. They can also report an issue if the app isn’t working correctly. The App provides access to the initial tutorial to ensure that all safety precautions are being taken.

This is a great training tool for your personal use and for students going through my basic and CCW course. It helps with identifying issues before going on the range, relaxs the students before live fire training making it a much safer training session. I have set it up numerous times without any issues just a great system to use.
I really enjoy the Strikeman app for the most part. I purchased a .300AAC cartridge for my AR pistol for dry fire practice and help sighting it in. Although the app can be a little quirky at times, overall it works well for what I need it to. Features in the APP, such as training templates and the ability to gather metrics can help even the most novice user improve in a short amount of time.
This application may provide excellent practice in the comfort of your own home. I have a 14 yard long hallway, so I set up there. I have found the ability to draw, shoot, reholster, and repeat especially valuable. But there are very inconvenient limitations on the basic application. While you may create individual templates for different firearms, you cannot edit the name of the firearm, name of drill, or the range inside of each template.
I really want to like this app, but I don't. Even after setting up the target and following all the calibration directions and not moving it between sessions it has significant issues with registering ghost shots and causing my metrics to tank. Tried several different troubleshooting techniques with no success. With this poor of an experience for the free version there's not a chance I'm hell I'm buying the paid version
this would be great if it would actually record the shots! I can see the red light hitting the target but it only registers on the phone about half of the time. Also, when I read about it online it says I should ideally stand 5 to 10 ft away from the target. This is so crazy close that it is hardly even worth using if that is correct. I wish I could get this thing to work, it was not cheap.
