This is the first in the series of itineraries entitled “The Great Personages of Santa Croce” which invite you to discover those illustrious figures who with their ideas and actions have changed the course of history and our lives, and whose memory is conserved in the monumental complex of Santa Croce in Florence, a treasure-trove of priceless art works and a Pantheon dedicated to great Italians.
“In Tuscany with Dante” invites you to make the acquaintance of the Somma Poeta (or “Supreme Poet”) on the seventh centenary of his death. You’ll discover mediaeval Florence and the timeless beauty of the Tuscan landscape with its hill-top villages and castles. You will also get the chance to enjoy ancient views, sounds, tales and tastes; it was here that Dante found inspiration for his immortal verses.
