#29 in Top Free Maps And Navigation in United Kingdom
ScotRail Train Times & Tickets users say on Google Play
nice easy and simple, no need for paper tickets
Very easy to use, understand and navigate, but *incredibly* slow! I often use it to search for journeys elsewhere as well as in Scotland because it offers split tickets and provides more details and options than other services. However, it is extremely slow to respond to taps (on a Motorola phone) and has been for ages - frustrating in general and especially when needing a ticket quickly for inspection or barriers (solution: have it ready early). Thankfully even most train staff know it's slow!
Ticket prices are very expensive, yet many trains run with lots of empty seats. If prices were reduced, more people would choose to travel by train. Lower fares could mean fuller trains and better value for everyone.
well that was entirely confusing - I go to to the ScotRail app, it asks if I want to install the app, an app icon appears, I buy my tickets. However, when I get to the station, my tickets have vanished. The link from my email shows a white screen. Staff (Haymarket) intones that 'it is my responsibility to make sure my tickets are working' before discovering that it is a different app I needed. Turns out the 'app' was a link to the website. Stressful, overcomplex and missed my train.
Can the app please be made to stop logging me out!
