Folder Player Pro is a directory - centric music\mp3 player and is a more advanced version of its free counterpart.
It adds the following capabilities on top of free version:

- Priority updates
- Unlimited tagging, allowing you to create multiple "playlists"
- Extended cross-fading functionality
- Ability to auto-delete tracks during playback
- Option to stop on power loss
- Option to continue playback for next folder, after current folder finishes
- M3U support

Some of the other features shared between two editions:

- playing folder trees AND individual files within folders
- integration with Bluetooth headphones (and your car)
- integration with last.fm (via scrobbler)
- pauses during phone calls and navigation speech
- sequential and random play

I have been using this on my Android phone for a long time. It allows you to play the contents of a folder, without forcing you to have tags or playlists, and that suits me. The approach may be simple but the feature set is very comprehensive. I have recently installed this app on my FiiO M7 music player in place of FiiO's own player and have been very pleased to be able to use it on a commercial music player. The author's support has been very responsive in resolving the odd FiiO issue. Recommended without reservation!

Great app, though it has a few consistently reproducible bugs. For example, if you search a track, start its playback and press next, the following track will be chosen from a wrong location.

Will you finally update this app to continue playing the next song in the que! It works and then soon it wont play the next song and youll have to manually press the fwrd button and even then itll stop. Also why is this app incompatible with Unihertz Jelly pro? Instead the free version works but you can only add 3 songs in the que vs the paid version. Nonetheless music needs to continue playing fron the que no matter how long my ohone has been on. This has been an issue for a long time.

Keeps losing link to music folder. Have clear data and reset everything.

Misbehaving! Have used for years, but latest update has destroyed it. Runs in the background, runs battery down, and makes phone get hot. Attempts to optimize in phone settings makes app stop and lose memory of memory card music folders. If you listen to anything like a marathon, this app will now only frustrate you. Can't start every morning and continue where I left off because the app forgets and has to be setup again. Will have to use something else.
