Idaho Statesman - Boise News users say on Google Play
Now that they give you unlimited stories for free I love it. I live out of Idaho and this is one of the few connections I have with home. Very easy to use and very quick app.
Good layout and presentation of journalism content. Free access is metered to a defined number of articles per month, and then you will be denied access unless you subscribe. This despite pop-up ads being prominent. Subscriptions are the healthiest way for newspapers to make money, but I would welcome unlimited free access in exchange for viewing more advertising or even watching a video ad upon launching the app. Writers and staff do a good job covering my local news, which is appreciated.
App functions OK, but what bugged me enough to post this review is an email I received 7/25/2021 indicating I should "Download the new app". Sounds good, I think to myself, and go to Google Play and find that the app was last updated 7 Dec 2020. THAT"S NOT NEW.
I have had repeated problems getting this to work on my Android tablet. Aggravating!
Frustrating App. Its newest trick is that I have to reload every time I turn the page or enlarge to see a graphic. UPDATE July 23 2022. App will not even open paper for 4 days. You log in and nothing happens. Idaho Statesman will not even respond. All we want is local news....unfortunately the news in the Statesmen is now 2 days old since moved the printing to a different city. DEVELOPER; This was done. Also the app will not operate on any device we own.
