Backgammon, also known as Tavla, Narde or Tavli is a two players board game that involves a combination of strategy and luck, due to rolling dice. The goal is to remove all of one’s own playing pieces ⚪ ⚫ from the board before the opponent can do the same. Good gameplay. So far it's been mostly fair. The computer usually gets what it needs to get out or block me out could be the randomness of random as it's often enough to notice but not enough to make me uninstall. Overall it's becoming my favorite Backgammon game. One thing I suggest is the ability to change board, dice, & tile colors/styles/theme FOR FREE. 5*+
First game with fair dice! You can play computer, a person across from you in the room on the same device, (like a portable board!) And live people. Yes, the doubles sometimes pop up unfairly, and that's the only reason I gave 4. (4.5 is not available)
It's okay. Ads are super loud and long, and the close buttons for them are small and unresponsive. Time limit for moves is way too short (only 40 seconds). Dice either roll spectacularly well or absolutely awful, no in between. Says you can adjust difficulty in settings but you can't. I like that you don't have to bet & it's not a flashy casino-style game and the aesthetics of the board and pieces are quite nice, but that's about all I like. Not enough to keep the app.
The game doesn't follow the rules of backgammon. When presented with a roll in which one of the die is blocked unless they are forced to move, the game does not force the move and allows the player to just move the die of their choice.
No matter the difficulty, the bot gets as many doubles as it needs to win. No questions asked. Usually gets 3x the amount of doubles I get and they're almost always at the very end to ensure the bot wins, even on easy. Easily tried 10+ games and this happened every single time. Literally impossible to win when the bot gets double after double after double after double, while I'm getting 1&2 dice combos every game.
