Update: I've replayed this a couple times & found my subsequent explorations more challenging. Fun game. Wayyy too short. I cleared this game on my first go with little effort. Maybe a couple hours of gameplay? Wish this game was longer, or possibly just more challenging. The dialogue does get repetitive, but I found some joy in the attachments I made to some of my crew. Was it worth the price? Probably.
Similar in look and feel to Seedship; basically a space exploration game against the clock. More complexity, cool for a few hours, but lacks real diversity in the endings and is a bit too easy (I completed it on my third try and haven't failed twice more since, having achieved most of the Achievements). It becomes repetitive after a while and doesn't warrant the high price; I think I paid $10 or so but $3 or $4 would be closer to the mark.
I loved Seedship, with its excellent writing and varied tactics. While this game also has wonderful sci-fi writing, it soon becomes extremely repetitive, clicking through the same paragraphs over and over. The roguelite pacing is counterintuitive, that to get the most points one has to follow a very boring, predictable. Unlike Seedship, it feels like I must grind my way through, that there is only one way to win, and that getting a high score isn't a fun way to play. Terribly overpriced too.
Seedship is probably the best game on Android. A text based roguelike, strategic, unexpected, tons of events and endings. Tough but logical and fair- you know what your getting into usually. This is the opposite. You can easily loose all your crew exploring a single planet from full health, and might have 5-8 a system to explore. Sone upgrades do nothing - the radiation upgrade for example, protects your ship but not your crew. It's hard to figure out what choices might hurt your crew.
Seedship was awesome, I loved the events and the mystery of the universe as you searched for a new home for Mankind. I expected this would be similar just the events and systems of Seedship expanded upon, instead I get the most frustratingly RNG dependent game I've ever played, I didn't mind the wonky RNG in Seedship because it was a free game and really instilled the feeling that you are all alone but for this game it just seems tacky, anger inducing, and lame. This game should have been free.
