Books written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit
The Bible contains books written before the first coming of Jesus Christ to the world, and they make up the Old Testament, and books written after the earthly life of Jesus - which are the books of the New Testament, the New Covenant of God with man.
The books of the Holy Scriptures are divided into the sacred writings of the Old Testament and the sacred writings of the New Testament. There are 39 canonical books of the Old Testament, and 27 of the New Testament.
