Love this game, best of these types of games I've played. My main issue I have with the combat are hiw fighters are handled. Most ships are helpless against them because either A. They shoot at everything but the fighters most of the time or B. In the case of most carriers, they're completely helpless, period because the fighters don't shoot at each other. Not to say they're overpowered, but there needs to be a good way to shoot them down and dogfights could be cool

Editing for new game state. Recently returned to see how things are. Under new ownership and seems to be a lot more transparency from devs. More so than you'll see in most games. Game is the friendliest to casual players and non PVP players its ever been. From PVP locked sectors to the increased ease of acquiring upgrades and items. It used to take a lot of luck and time to grab the things you can obtain now for just some event points. The events ARE a grind, but at least achievable now.

After 5 years since my 1 star review, I'd like to reup it to keep it relevant to the current game state. This game has truly become unrecognizable. Outside of the still predatory p2w mechanics present, they have incentiveized skipping over 90% of the game's content to push you forward to the newer stuff. The campaign system ruins the core of the game and makes it so that so much of what made the game special, the gathering of BPs and resources to power up, is now ignored. RIP Vega Conflict.
