The Book of Enoch, interesting and obscure book to expand knowledge

The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish religious work, attributed by tradition to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah, although modern scholars believe that the oldest (mostly in the Book of Watchers) sections date back to 300 BC, and the last part (Book of parables) probably late first century BC.

"The Scriptures will be given, they will believe and rejoice with them, all the righteous glad to learn from all spheres of righteousness." (1 Enoch 104: 13)

The first sections of the book were made in the 3rd century BC. The authors relied in part on the Pentateuch and had expanded sections from Genesis, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. For example, an Enoch 1:9 (the quotes in the letter of Jude 1:14-15) is originally a Midrash Deut 33:2.

The Book of Enoch (1 Enoch abbreviated) An intertestamental book, which is part of the Bible canon of the Coptic Church but is not accepted as canonical by other Christian churches. The only complete versions of this book are preserved in Ge'ez, the liturgical language of the Ethiopian Church, but several parts are known in Greek, Syriac, Armenian, Arabic and Latin and a fragment in Coptic.

They have also been found in several Aramaic fragments and one in Hebrew (4Q317) Qumran. Tradition attributes its authorship to Enoch (also transliterated as English Enoch or Enoch), great-grandfather of Noah. It is now believed that the text was written by several Jewish writers between the 3rd centuries. C. and I.

No doubt the Book of Enoch was widely known and appreciated in the Jewish world and later inherited by early Christians who were largely responsible for preserving it in other languages. The Book of Enoch is classified as pseudepigraphic because its content is attributed to the legendary descendant of Adam, although the content and issues are clearly spoken of later.
