Mirror Study Bible v4.0.19
MirrorBibleAbout this app
The Mirror Study Bible app solves the problem of providing an in-depth, eye-opening paraphrase translation of the New Testament, specifically targeting individuals seeking a fresh perspective on biblical texts. It benefits most those already familiar with the Bible and looking for a new interpretation, such as theologians, bible study groups, and individuals seeking spiritual growth. Compared to other apps in the Books And Reference category, the Mirror Study Bible stands out with its unique translation by Francois du Toit, but may fall short in terms of additional study resources or community features. The app's high user rating and lack of ads suggest a focused, user-centric approach.
Pros
- The Mirror Study Bible boasts a high user rating of 4.3 out of 5, indicating a well-received and quality app that meets user expectations, which is a significant social proof given its niche audience.
- With no ads and a one-time payment model, users can enjoy an uninterrupted study experience without the concern of privacy implications from targeted advertising or the need for frequent in-app purchases.
- The app's requirement of zero permissions is a significant advantage, ensuring that users' data privacy is respected and minimizing potential security risks, which is particularly important for an app dealing with personal and spiritual content.
- The developer's provision of a website and email contact suggests a commitment to user support and feedback, which is crucial for an app that may require theological or technical assistance.
- The app's offline capability, implied by its lack of internet permissions, allows users to study the Bible anywhere, making it a valuable tool for both personal and group study settings.
Cons
- The app's limited download numbers, currently at 1,000+, might indicate a smaller community or less extensive support network compared to more popular Bible study apps, which could be a drawback for users seeking discussion forums or community features.
- The $28.99 price tag may be perceived as steep by some potential users, especially considering the availability of free Bible study resources, which could limit the app's accessibility to a wider audience.
- The Mirror Study Bible's focus on a specific translation might not cater to users seeking a more comprehensive biblical study experience that includes multiple translations, commentaries, or study guides.
- The app's Android requirement of 7.0 might exclude users with older devices, potentially limiting its reach to those with newer smartphones.
Best for: The ideal user for the Mirror Study Bible is an individual with a strong foundation in Christian theology, likely between the ages of 25 and 60, who is seeking a deeper, more personal understanding of the New Testament through a unique and thought-provoking paraphrase translation, and who values a distraction-free, ad-less study environment.
Developer Description
Mirror Bible - eye-opening paraphrase translation of the NT by Francois du Toit
Endorsed, loved and read by church leaders and laymen globally: the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Paul Young (author of The Shack), Dr C Baxter Kruger, Dr Steve McVey, etc.
The Mirror Bible will open your eyes to what Scripture has always been about: Christ, the Son of God, did not come to be an example for you, but of you! The incarnation (the eternal Word becoming man) is the most accurate and articulate translation. Jesus came to reveal you!
Any sincere student of classical music would sensitively seek to capture and interpret the piece, so as not to distract from the original sound of the composition.
To form a conclusion in the study of our origin would involve a peering over the Creator’s shoulder as it were, in order to gaze through his eyes and marvel at his anticipation. His invisible image and likeness is about to be unveiled in human form!
The incarnation celebrates the fact that the destiny of the Word was not the page but tangible human life! The word of truth preserves God’s original idea in the resonance of our hearts.
2 Corinthians 3:2: Instead of an impressive certificate framed on my wall I have you framed in my heart! You are our Epistle written within us, an open letter speaking a global language; one that everyone can read[1] and recognize as their mother tongue! (The word [1]anaginosko, from ana, upward and ginosko, to know upward; thus to draw knowledge from a higher reference; from above; to recognize; to read with recognition.)
2 Corinthians 3:3: The fact that you are a Christ-Epistle shines as bright as day! This is what our ministry is all about. The Spirit of God is the living ink. Every trace of the Spirit’s influence on the heart is what gives permanence to this conversation. We are not talking law-language here; this is more dynamic and permanent than letters chiseled in stone. This conversation is embroidered in your inner consciousness. (It is the life of your design that grace echoes within you!)
Behold how beautiful
how valuable
how loved
you are!
You will rediscover your identity in the very image of the invisible God.

Mirror Study Bible users say on Google Play
Best Bible translation I've ever read! Could use some navigational updates, esp being able to choose which vs I'd like to go to instead of having to scroll thru ea chapter.
I really like the Mirror Translation, it's a graceful and refreshing presentation of the Bible. And this is a great app, simple features, quickly accessible to just get straight to reading, no distracting features or choosy options to work through. If you want an app you can just open and easy to read right way this is great.
I haven't been able to read from the app for several months now. It says "Return to the home screen and click on the download button" but there's not a download button on the home screen. I have also tried to login innumerable times, have tried to reset password, too, but it never works. Please help.
A beautiful translation however the app is very problematic. On my last update, only 2 books remained Luke and John. The rest vanished. I uninstalled the app and now I can't get it back... I am very disappointed.
The Mirror translation is beautiful and makes so much more sense of the message of good news, love, and acceptance in belief, faith, and God. The app is horrible though. I had several features that would not work properly and not the app won't open at all, after updates, unistalling and reinstalling. It doesn't matter how good the content is if you can't access it. I recommend buying the book. Don't have to troubleshoot that.
