One of the best informed and accessible scientific reviews available to the public. (Even my daughter, a dancer by profession, loves the magazine.) Remains fundamentally objective with its approaches to a multitude of scientific endeavors, maintaining open forms to critical review by their audience. I have subscribed for almost four decades. Highly recommended.

This app makes it quite easy to read Scientific American online. It has its little annoyances though. It doesn't remember your place when you come back later to continue reading. There's no dark mode unfortunately. I've been reading SA for about 50 years and I have to say it's certainly changed. The articles are not as in depth as they once were. not as many of those great hand drawn diagrams explaining complex topics.

Great for reading content; wish they allowed better control of font size. They provide just 4 levels and the smallest appears to be 6 point, and the next level appears to be 14 point. The largest font appears to be 18 or 20 point. They need a more linear scale for the fonts or provide more degrees of control over the fonts. Otherwise the app is a great way to view content from the magazine.

The new version is better, but it still gets confused. I use VPNs always and I think it causes an issue for this app. Over time it forgets (expired or bad token in bg?), and once it does, you cannot access your online subscription or other functions. I have to reinstall it, very annoying. Still waited for a real fix and better QA with this app. 11/29 - Still broken, no digital magazine access.

Dreadful. On all levels. Despite having paid a year subscription I cannot access any of the materials, even ones i have previosly bought. I have chased numerous times for this to be resolved. Customer service is next to useless and provide unclear responses after lengthy periods of delay and seem incapable of actually reading more than one sentence of explanation. The app itself is also clunky and old. No dark mode, regular issues of crashing, problems with font size across formats etc.
