Personally I think the only reason you would want to get the bad ending is to get it's achievement. As far as the ending itself though, it's not really that great to me anyway.

shovel pirate's controls feel a bit clunky, it's annoying how you can't move your character mid air so you have to be moving before you make a jump in order to do the platforming, also when you're close to a ladder and an enemy is near you the attack button should be prioritized. these 2 things make the game frustrating and not fun to play, just for me at least
