KLS- Fertilizer Recommendation vVARY

An Android based bilingual (English & Kannada) static mobile application was developed based on STCR equations for providing fertilizer recommendations to Karnataka Light Soils of FCV Tobacco. This App is free to download for all the farmers, extension functionaries, Agriculture department officials, KVK SMSs and researchers, teaching professionals, NGOs, FPOs, input dealers, agripreneurs, consultants, and all those involved in frontline and field extension activities in agriculture sector through google play store. It is a user friendly, menu-driven and developed in English & Kannada for farmers & researchers to understand easily.
Farmers of KLS region can get the fertilizer recommendation for their fields using soil test values for a desired yield target of FCV tobacco
Report of fertilizer recommendations is generated, and it can be stored in the mobile.

Description of the APP:

The mobile application was developed in Android Studio with Flutter framework using Dart programming language. The home page of the app consists of title of the app with five menu buttons in the task bar viz., Home, Admin, Start, Contact and Help. ‘Admin’ module is an authenticated based module which allows the administrators / programmers to view / edit the target yield equations. To execute the app by the user for fertilizer recommendations, ‘Start’ option has to be selected. After selection, a new screen with two options namely ‘English’ and ‘Kannada’ with title as Choose your language will be displayed. The user has to select one of the languages to enter the data. The data sheet consists of two sub options namely, Farmer information and Soil Test data. Farmer information consists of attributes viz., Village, TBGR Number, FCV production zone and Auction platform. The Soil test data menu consists of attributes viz., Organic carbon, Available Nitrogen, Available Phosphorous, Available Potassium and Yield Target. User has to select the Auction platform and FCV production zone names from the drop down menu and has to enter the values for all the remaining attributes
The ‘Yield target’ attribute consists of range of values which indicates the target yield expected by the farmer. User has to select one value from the drop down menu and select ‘Submit’ button. Once ‘submitted’ fertilizer recommendation report will be generated for the selected yield target. Provision is made to download the report as PDF (or) to take the hard copy of the same. ‘Contact’ option displays the list of members to whom we have to contact for any queries related to this app. ‘Help’ option provides step-by-step information for executing the app.
