For a certain kind of person
To hurt them.
Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is a punishing climbing game, a homage to Jazzuo's 2002 B-Game classic 'Sexy Hiking'. You move the hammer with the mouse, and that's all there is. With practice, you'll be able to jump, swing, climb and fly. Great mysteries and a wonderful reward await the master hikers who reach the top of the mountain.
To quote Jazzuo himself: "The hiking action is very similar to way you would do it in real life, remember that and you will do well".
• Climb up an enormous mountain with nothing but a hammer and a pot.
• Listen as I make philosophical observations about the problem at hand.
• Between 2 and ∞ hours of agonizing gameplay, depending. The median time to finish for my playtesters was 5 hours, but the mean was closer to ∞.
• Lose all your progress, over and over.
• Feel new types of frustration you didn't know you were capable of.

The controls are simple, but hard to master. A lot of people blame them, but I don't think that's right. Walking is hard for babies, but it becomes natural once you get used to it. Turn input acceleration off, and sens all the way down, and it feels quite comfortable. My favourite part of this game is the commentary. Try to appreciate it as you climb, it's really poetic. As long as you appreciate a pure challenge, no rewards, no upgrades, just skill, this is for you. Try not to get emotional.
It's a good game that's designed to be challenging. Most of the low star reviews are going to be from people who are upset that the game isn't easy. But if that's not a concept that's appealing to you, avoid this one.
2 Major Issues 1. You cannot save your game stats in this game, if you win 100 times and uninstall the game... Your stats are gone forever. This makes me very upset, at least give us a way where we can save our stats for flex. 😑 2. The hammer is glitching while playing on the battery saver, this exploits game experience. 3 Stars, I'll give 5 if you fix these 2 issues.
I couldn't really get into it as the controls are funky. I could see some players figuring it out. Yet I'm not good enough for this and falling all the way down would ruin it for me as just moving is complex. Good idea though and it will be fun once they fix the controls.
there needs to be a joystick doesn't even feel like the same game on PC yes I have played both I made it much farther much faster on PC and I played that one first this is a joke of a mobile game and just seems like a cash grab only reason I tried it on mobile is because its on play pass
