Knotwords is a minimal and elegant logic puzzle — with words.

The rules are simple: arrange the letters in each section so every word is valid, across and down.

Each puzzle may seem difficult at first — but like all my favorite newspaper puzzles, it gets easier as you progress. Each step guides you naturally towards the solution.

This is the kind of game I've been trying to make my whole career — I'm amazed Jack and I discovered this design. We hope you like it.

Update: glad to say there has now been an update and issues seem resolved, speedier and smoother experience, back to being a great game. (Original:) Great game, but has become unusable. As noted in recent reviews, game has become laggy over time; freezes a lot making it a frustrating experience. As of this morning (Happy New Year!), its become unplayable: I just get a blue screen when trying to play the daily challenges and I eventually have to force-quit.

Edit 2: As of 1/15/2025 the issues are fixed and performance has improved. Edit: I sent an email to support, and they fixed the daily puzzles and said a later update would be pushed to fix the monthly books The game has slowly been running worse, but now, as of January 1st, 2025, the app is no longer playable. Daily puzzles just show as a blank screen, and the monthly puzzlebook says it requires an update but there isn't one.

The game is fun and provides some nice puzzles. It is a bit clunky with technical glitches and requires a lot of taps to select the right spot. Limited game modes means it feels a bit stale, and themed play is only in monthly puzzles and repeat frequently. I had a 3 month streak of dailies, but latest bug with monthly puzzles being broken made me realize I wasn't having a lot of fun anymore. Would reinstall later if more modes or themes are introduced and some of the bugs and clunkiness fixed

Quirky letter navigation options aside (none of them work the way I want, and often they'll skip open cells in favour of filled ones) this is one of the few games I play daily. However, streaks and other accomplishments are not synchronised through Google Play (despite it appearing every time the game starts) which means they're not present on my new phone; very disappointing!
