About this app

The GeForce NOW Cloud Gaming app solves the problem of high-end gaming on low-end devices by providing cloud-based gaming services, benefiting gamers who cannot afford or do not have access to powerful gaming hardware. This app stands out in the Entertainment category due to its unique cloud gaming feature set and NVIDIA's reputation as a leader in the gaming industry. However, its mixed user rating and concerns about latency and game availability hold it back from being a top-rated app. Overall, GeForce NOW offers a compelling solution for gamers looking for a high-quality gaming experience on Android devices.

Pros

  • With over 10 million downloads, GeForce NOW has established itself as a popular and social proof-backed cloud gaming platform, indicating a large user base and community support.
  • As a free app with no in-app purchases, GeForce NOW provides an accessible entry point for gamers to experience high-end games without the need for expensive hardware upgrades.
  • NVIDIA's developer reputation and frequent updates ensure that the app receives regular improvements and new feature additions, enhancing the overall user experience.
  • The app's zero permission requests are a significant advantage, providing users with peace of mind regarding their device's security and data privacy.
  • GeForce NOW's cloud gaming technology allows for seamless gameplay on a wide range of Android devices, making it an attractive option for gamers with lower-end hardware.

Cons

  • The mixed user rating of 3.5/5 indicates that some users may experience issues with latency, game availability, or overall performance, which could be a concern for gamers seeking a smooth and reliable experience.
  • The presence of ads in the app may be a nuisance for some users, potentially disrupting their gaming experience and impacting the overall enjoyment of the app.
  • The variability in Android requirements and device compatibility may lead to inconsistent performance across different devices, which could be frustrating for users with lower-end hardware.
  • Some users may be concerned about the potential data collection and usage by NVIDIA, despite the app's zero permission requests, highlighting the need for transparency and clear communication from the developer.

Best for: The ideal user for GeForce NOW is a tech-savvy gamer aged 18-40 who values high-quality gaming experiences but may not have access to powerful gaming hardware, and is looking for a convenient and affordable way to play popular games on their Android device, with a stable internet connection and a willingness to tolerate occasional ads and potential latency issues.

Privacy

Given the app's zero permission requests, users can be relatively confident in the security and privacy of their device data. However, it is essential to be aware of potential data collection by NVIDIA, such as gaming habits and preferences, and to review the developer's privacy policy for more information. To minimize potential risks, users should ensure they are using a secure and stable internet connection when gaming.

To get the most out of GeForce NOW, users should prioritize a stable and high-speed internet connection to minimize latency and ensure smooth gameplay. Additionally, users can explore the app's settings to optimize performance for their specific device and adjust graphics quality to achieve the best balance between visual fidelity and framerate. I like this game I can play Fortnite on Android it's sooooo good. but there is one problem, on Fortnite I can get an Xbox controller layout on my screen but on sky the children of light I have to use on screen keyboard. I can't find controller on sky. I still like this app/game it works so good especially if you are right by your router. if you can please fix the issue it still works properly I think it would be better if controller on screen is on.

Streaming on a 4K TCL C805 Google TV with 120 Hz QLED panel. Currently on Ultimate plan, but not getting the full benefits from it. Playing competitive multiplayers is impossible at 60 fps. Can we see the 120 fps option added to the app? Running on CAT 5e with 50 MB optical fiber and 0 packet loss at 35ms latency. My TV should be more than capable of streaming 120 fps @1080p.

"wrapping up previous session" says "this should only take a minute" but it takes a minimum of 30 minutes to wrap up and let me back in. Plus they kick early or never actually let you in the game. I wouldn't pay for a service like that when there are so many that actually work right.
