The better of the 2 apps I've seen on Google Play. You can type in a station or a landmark and a route will be displayed for you to follow from your current or chosen location, which line to go on, when and where to change lines, if necessary, etc.

Combined with Google Maps it provides all that you need to get to where you need to and how to get there and by what mode. Significantly, it gives walking time to nearest underground and bus station from where you are and time to walk from underground or bus stop to destination.
