Pomelo GamesAbout this app
Once Upon a Tower solves the problem of providing an engaging offline adventure experience for users looking for a casual, indie game. It benefits gamers who enjoy action-packed games with a unique twist, and its high rating and significant download numbers suggest it compares favorably to other Game Action category apps. What makes it stand out is its offline capability and lack of permissions, which enhances user privacy. However, its reliance on ads and in-app purchases might fall short for users seeking an ad-free experience.
Pros
- With over 5 million downloads and a 4.4-star rating, Once Upon a Tower has demonstrated its appeal and quality, suggesting a well-designed and engaging gameplay experience.
- The app's offline capability is a significant advantage for users who want to play without internet connectivity, making it accessible in various environments.
- The developer, Pomelo Games, has a website and email contact, indicating a level of transparency and support that can be reassuring for users.
- The lack of permissions requested by the app is a notable pro, as it suggests a respect for user privacy and minimal data collection.
- The game's indie nature and unique concept can offer a refreshing change from more mainstream action games, appealing to users looking for something different.
Cons
- The presence of ads and in-app purchases, with prices ranging up to $99.99, might be seen as aggressive monetization that could detract from the user experience, especially for younger players.
- Some users might find the game's content or difficulty level not sufficiently challenging or varied, given its indie nature and the broad appeal of more complex action games.
- The app's requirement for Android 7.0 or higher might exclude users with older devices, limiting its accessibility to a wider audience.
- Despite its high rating, some users may experience issues with ads interfering with gameplay or find the in-app purchases to be too pricey.
Best for: The ideal user for Once Upon a Tower is likely a casual gamer aged 10 or above, with a medium to high level of technical skill, who is looking for an engaging, offline action-adventure game that offers a unique experience without requiring complex controls or significant device resources.

I've loved this game for years just because of how simple the mechanics are but it's still got great graphics along with a simplistic concept of escape. (and I love the chickens)
it's a really addictive and a very good game, I only wish there was updates and new stuff from time to time or even another version..
It gets repetitive but it's alright and get boring if played too much
have a task to hit a fire log back at the dragon. I have done this several times, yet game won't clear the task.
this game has some error..... they should have levels so that if we played 5th level and after the game over they should put there an option to start the game where we ended but they don't have level out there like if you completed 7 levels in one take and after the game over you need to start from the first level and that's absolutely so much irritating that's why giving only one star
