Developer Description
Join Detective McQueen as he puzzles his way through 9 chilling cases.
Twin Lakes is a cursed city. Less cursed than say, “Demons are tearing it apart” but more cursed than “always loses its keys” or “often steps in puddles”. It’s roughly in the middle of the cursed scale, is what we’re trying to say.
Cursed enough that it’s a nuisance. Cursed enough that somebody has to deal with it…
That’s where The Darkside Detective comes in. Whenever you hear a bump in the night, feel a tingle up your spine, or smell something fishy, Detective Francis McQueen isn’t far behind.
No, he doesn’t smell of fish - it’s a phrase, come on...
Picking up after the events of The Darkside Detective, McQueen has to save his usually-present (in body, if not mind) sidekick Officer Dooley from the Darkside, so the two can get back to what they do best - investigating the city’s many strange, often paranormal, always paradoxical goings-on.
Join them in this frighteningly funny point-and-click adventure as they investigate six more standalone cases bringing them to a carnival, the local retirement home, an amateur wrestling circuit and even as far away as Ireland as they do what they can to keep the Darkside at bay.

A nostalgic old school point and click adventure style, that doesn't take itself too serious. I love it! Puzzles are just the right difficulty, although the option for a hint or a reminder of what needs to be done would be helpful when needed. The cases are just long enough that I can sit and play through a whole one without taking up my day and there are many cases to play. The story is pretty fun and keeps me interested. Would love to see more games like this one in the future!
Honestly, I love this game...and I would give it 5 stars...except for the fact that I beat 3 levels and it completely restarted my game and made me start all the way over from the beginning again. Really frustrating! 😫
the puzzles and games themselves were great, but I took 2 stars off for 2 reasons: 1, there's no way to actually skip dialogue if you accidentally click something again or don't want to wait (no, swipe up does NOT work) and 2, putting *every single one* of your Kickstarter backers as part of the credits, and making your Kickstarter backers list the MAJORITY of the credits was a stupid move. show me the credits, get credit for YOUR work, don't force watching the names of every person who pre-paid
this is the worst paid for game I've ever seen. there's no tutorial on how to play the game no task list to tell you what to do next and no ideas on how to get the game to actually help you get the hang of the game so you can figure out what you're doing. the only bonus to this nightmare of a game was that I have play pass and didn't actually pay you to play this game. now I understand why it's on play pass. it sucks.
