There is a one-star review on here that says it doesn't work well on Android phones. Dead wrong. I only use Android and have been playing this game on Android since release. It works perfectly. That guy is the problem. Guaranteed. also the saves work fine. again has to be user error. I have never had one single issue with this game. it runs just like it did on PlayStation 1. anyone saying there file was gone or it can't save or the game crashes is playing on a garbage can they are calling phones

Touch controls work fine. I have no problems with the game. Some animations do run fast or slow but nothing game breaking. The battles are long and the only way to save is outside of battles. I am able to hit home button, back key, power button, and reopen game back up with no problem and the game is in the same place when I left it. I not sure what everyone is talking about losing their place in battle when hitting a button and the game going to title screen. I haven't come across that issue.

I've loved and played every FF game since the first one on NES, even the Japanese ports. This is a faithful port of the original. That said, the report from the 1 star review of lost data when interrupted by a phone call in the middle of battle is accurate. Ignore the stan stating this is false. This game needs better mobile optimization, in memory retention and controls, but is otherwise a solid game.

Get the PSP version and use the "fan patch" that fixes the animation slow down bug if you want to play with a controller, I'm sure you can figure out how... The touch controls are functional, but figuring out the gestures (which are much better than just tapping everything) is easier said than done. I suspect this won't get controller support in order to make the other certain other versions of the game more appealing, this would be my recommended way to play, if it had controller support.

really terrible controls, for the price I was hoping for something similar to the gameboy FFT I played back in the day but it's a pretty big disappointment. It's fun, don't get me wrong, but the price point is way way off. if you don't save often you can lose tons of progress, too, since it doesn't go back to the last combat but instead the main menu where you reload your save.
