The app has been totally redone as of August 2024 and now works beautifully! I use a pretty low end Android phone and I used the be very frustrated with the old Star Tribune app. Now that they've updated it I couldn't be happier! Beware of poor reviews written before 8/24. 🙂

I read articles of interest every day. The old app always froze or closed. The new one is much easier to use and seems faster. STILL no ability to make comments on articles however and that is important for many readers. When will that be fixed?

The app has improved considerably, though I wish they didn't remove the ability to comment.

The January 24 update was supposed to fix bugs but now it seems there's more bugs than before. It's more laggy and harder to get the comments to load. Sometimes it won't scroll fully to articles that are listed on the screen. There are photo circles that post over the copy on the screen and it just doesn't seem as smooth as before.

Well they fixed the constant crashing problem but now the app Keeps showing me stories that are sometimes a week or more old. the only way I can see today's news is to open the online print version.
