There are some microtransactions, but not anywhere near the typical mobile games where it purposely halts your progress until you pay up. I've been playing for 4 months and quite enjoy it, the only purchase I've made was to remove the ads (which are not intrusive) and get the rewards without having to watch ads. The game is pretty generous and gives you lots of Diamonds (premium currency) every day + doing daily/weekly etc challenges. Not even once I felt like I have to buy more to progress.

It's not offline. I got on the plane and no game to play. When I get off the plane I loaded up the game and realized that when your not playing your not earning. Your game must be on save power mode basically your game needs to constantly be on. Stay away.
