On the bus to Incheon airport from Hapjeong, not enough cash or T-money balance on our physical cards. This is probably the only option as a foreigner with no Korean phone number/ID (T-money mobile needs K ID). Some frustrations: the password requirements (the special character has to be the first character), the "password" is the first 2 digits of your birthdate but the helptext is obscured - but it worked. 3.2% service fee for payments. 3k won is cheaper than 4k for physical card.

Quite nice option to avoid using actual physical card that would be thrown away after day or week of the visit to Korea. I was able to pay for my transportation and in convenience stores, sometimes to surprise of a cashier. From time to time UI was switching from English to Korean, but it doesn't add much problem.

It works well if you have cellphone reception, I only had issues occasionally when I still had WiFi enabled. However the biggest problem is, after using my credit card to charge the Tour Card about 5 times inside the app, it blocked my card from being used. There's really no way to get that block removed (from what I know) so you end up needing to use a different card, which of course will get blocked eventually as well. (and it's currently still blocked from adding more money 6 months later)

Get a physical card, it's way easier! Although the app did what is supposed to, it was one of the worst digital experience I had. I experienced most problems when roaming and not in a Korean network. When you're tapping in or out, it first says that it can't connect. Retrying, it takes forever for the payment screen with the balance to finally appear. When you're registering a credit card for payment. It takes 3.2%, and crashes all the time. The latter is better when connected to Korean wifi

This app has been abandoned by the developers. I have it working but it's more trouble than it's worth. -It needs to be the 'default' NFC application on your phone which means you need to open Google Wallet to pay for other things. -It takes 15-20 seconds to initiate and be ready to pay. -It will often give 1-2 errors about 'no connection' before it's ready to pay. If you know all these things you can have the app open as a bus approaches but it's unnecessarily complicated. Get a Tmoney card.
