The Cathedral of Granada was ordered by Isabel la Católica shortly after the Taking of the city in 1505. Its foundation stone was laid on the day of the Incarnation in 1523, its first architect being Enrique Egas, who was replaced by Diego de Siloé.
It has a monumental façade, the work of Alonso Cano, and inside it houses a grandiose altarpiece. Its Main Chapel is a great jewel of the Spanish Renaissance, which can be seen from its central nave.
Numerous chapels are closed in its lateral naves, which represent different periods and styles with exceptional works of art, where we can highlight the altarpiece of the Virgen de la Antigua, the first patron saint of Granada.

The tour is generally quite good, with good details. However, it would be better with a map because stops 5 and 6 are far apart in the cathedral and the directions are difficult to follow.
