Developer Description

Hanafuda Koikoi is a japanese traditional card game.

This is the English version of Hanafuda Koi-Koi。

Koi-Koi (Japanese: こいこい) is a popular card game in Japan played with Hanafuda cards which is one of ways to play Hanafuda(Japanese playing cards) with two players.
The goal of the game is to make the combination of severalcards earlier than your opponent. The phrase "koi-koi" means "come on" in Japanese which is said when the player wants to continue the hand.

The object of the game is to form special card combinations called "yaku" from cards accumulated in a point pile. Players can gain cards in their point piles by matching cards in their hands, or drawn from the draw pile, with cards on the table. Once a yaku has been made, a player can stop to cash in points, or keep going (referred to as "koi-koi", hence the name of the game) to form additional yaku for more points. The point values assigned to individual cards have no effect on the score, but they are helpful to judge their value in forming yaku.

Great little Hanafuda game! Possibly one of the better ones I've played. My only problem is that I paid to remove ads one time and after I reinstalled the game after I got a new phone, I treid to renew my purchase to remove ads and it says that" I already own this item" thus continuing to play ads. This is my only real issue I found with the game, other than that there's nothing to complain about.

giving this 3 because this is a good app but removing ads doesn't work after you change devices. emailed the developer and waited over a month but never heard back. would switch to 5 stars if they help me restore my purchase on this 0hone like other apps.

This was good at first (I even removed ads), but then some flaws came up. The good: good animations, good set of options, 3 difficulties. The bad: the AI always ends the round no matter how many points they scored. It'll be the last round, I'll be up like 20 points or whatever, the AI will score 1 point and end the game, immediately losing. There's no strategy, it just scores a single hand and calls it a day, even when it means it loses. Super boring. There's other flaws, but I'm out of space.

ZERO* DO NOT PAY TO REMOVE ADS! (See below)-years later, still not fixed. Worse still, ads after every hand! Not on!!! Nice, clear version of the game that in itself is 5*. However, I paid to remove ads which works on the phone I bought it on BUT I've since downloaded it on my tablet and the ads come up-if I go to settings and hit the 'remove' button it tells me I've already bought it-so it does recognise the purchase but ignores it. 😒 If this can be sorted rating will be straight up to 5*.
