Just like western Chess, the aim of the game is to capture your opponent's King. You have seven pieces at your disposal, each with their own rules of movement. The board includes diagonal lines as well as horizontal ones, and pieces move along lines stopping where they intersect. The blank area in the middle of the board represents the Yellow River that divides north and south China. The major pieces in Chinese Chess come into play much quicker, allowing for a faster and less drawn out game.

ZingMagic’s critically acclaimed Chinese Chess application supports over 20 levels of play allowing you to play moves or games against the clock or relax and play at your own pace. The AI is really good and it is fun to play. Sometimes the AI repeats the same move over and over again. This should be fixed, since a human player does not act like this! The priority of moves should we reweighted with a factor < 1 after being played in a previous consecutive move!

A piece appeared on the board out of nowhere, next it was taken by its own side piece doing an illegal move. Beautiful GUI, but in operational as of now.

The app functions just fine on my nook hd, however even on the beginner dificulty setting the computer is impossible to beat. Very frustrating. Developer, please provide easier setting for us learners
