The chick app costs €1.99. Children can use it to learn to read words independently and intuitively. Learning requirement is the knowledge of all letters. After downloading, an annual license can be purchased for one device (in-app purchase). The app can then be used offline.

- The app is divided into 20 reading levels.
- It progresses in a differentiated manner, taking into account the task solutions.
- The requirements increase from level to level with the skills acquired.
- The children read syllables at the beginning and later individual words.
- Reading words with rare, difficult and/or multi-part graphemes (ö, au, sch, ei ...) is practiced successively and systematically.
- Designed taking into account the curricula of all federal states and Austria.
- The app can be adjusted in the "Settings" menu. The following settings are possible:
a) Display all words in syllable structure
b) Display all syllables and words with capital letters only
c) Switch off the audition function of the terms
-In the settings, the learning activity can also be evaluated.
-Due to the intuitive operation and the option to have terms spoken to you, the app is also suitable for children with little knowledge of German.
-In Germany, the German school script is used. The school handbook from Austria is automatically displayed on devices in Austria.
-The font size can be adjusted in the device settings of the smartphone or tablet.
-Please note that this is an annual license and that the app can only be used on one device at a time. If you hand over the device, it becomes unusable or you delete the app, the app would have to be purchased again.
-The chick app is available on Google Play and the App Store for smartphones and tablets.
