Current Judo News from North Rhine-Westphalia firsthand
Judo is a Japanese martial art, whose roots go back far. In competition, it comes to force the opponent with different techniques first on the floor and then to the task. Judo is not only a sport, but also to strengthen the personality, educate and teach values. Components are event technology, throwing techniques, grappling techniques, self-defense, Kata ... the "gentle way".
The North Rhine-Westphalian Judo Association was founded on 19 November 1952 as the North Rhine-Westphalian judo ring in Essen. At the inaugural meeting was attended by 13 teams. For Chairman Henry Frantzen was elected. Since 1964 the work of the North Rhine-Westphalian judo ring and Judo Amateur Association North Rhine-Westphalia was continued judo federation under the name of North Rhine-Westphalian.
President of NWJV is Peter Frese from Wuppertal, Vice-Presidents are Hans-Werner Krämer from Siegen and Andreas Kleegräfe from Cologne. More presidium member is Edgar Korthauer of food as president of the North Rhine-Westphalian Dan-College (NWDK).
