About this app

The 無機化学 app, developed by Hideki Touhara, aims to provide a comprehensive resource for individuals seeking to improve their knowledge of inorganic chemistry through questions and answers, ranging from basic to difficult problems. This app is particularly beneficial for students and professionals in the field of chemistry who need a quick reference or practice tool. Compared to other education apps, 無機化学 stands out due to its focused approach on inorganic chemistry, but it falls short in terms of user engagement and feedback mechanisms. The lack of user ratings and reviews limits the understanding of its effectiveness and user satisfaction.

Pros

  • The app's free model without ads or in-app purchases ensures an uninterrupted learning experience, allowing users to focus on the content without distractions.
  • With no permissions required, users can be assured of their privacy and security, as the app does not collect any personal data.
  • The app's offline capability, implied by the lack of internet permissions, makes it accessible in areas with poor internet connectivity, enhancing its usability.
  • The developer's blog, accessible through the provided website, suggests a level of transparency and openness to feedback, which could be beneficial for future updates and improvements.
  • The app's small size and minimal system requirements make it accessible to a wide range of Android devices, including those with limited storage and processing power.

Cons

  • The lack of user ratings and reviews makes it challenging to gauge the app's effectiveness and user satisfaction, which could be a significant concern for potential users.
  • The app's limited scope, focusing solely on inorganic chemistry, might not be sufficient for users seeking a broader chemistry education resource.
  • The absence of interactive features, such as quizzes, games, or discussion forums, may limit the app's ability to engage users and promote active learning.
  • The developer's email as the primary contact method may not be as responsive or efficient as other support channels, potentially leaving users without timely assistance.

Best for: The ideal user for the 無機化学 app is a student or professional in the field of chemistry, particularly those with a focus on inorganic chemistry, who requires a straightforward, no-frills reference or practice tool that can be used independently of internet connectivity, and is comfortable with a text-based, self-directed learning approach.

Developer Description

Questions and answers to complete knowledge problems from basic to difficult problems

It is an application that aims for a perfect score in inorganic chemistry.
For high school chemistry and college entrance exams. The knowledge of inorganic chemistry has been made into a question-and-answer format and a vacant space filling question format.
So far I'm doing it without corporate advertising.
It contains high-quality questions from daily learning to difficult questions in entrance exams.
The current number of questions is 1031. It covers the range of inorganic chemistry.

It is created while checking the high school range with reference to the entrance examination questions of the former Imperial Universities such as the University of Tokyo and Kyoto University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, National University School of Medicine (Medical University), Waseda, Keio, and Science University.
It is created so that there are no omissions in important items in the textbook range.

The source university is displayed for rare questions.
For example, the chemical formula of phosphine (University of Tokyo)

■ Extracted data (examined while solving entrance exam questions)
30 years from the University of Tokyo (University of Tokyo)
25 years of Kyoto University (Kyoto University)
Tokyo Institute of Technology for more than 20 years (Tokyo Institute of Technology)
20 years of Osaka University (Osaka University)
10 years of Nagoya University (Nagoya University)
Waseda / Keio Faculty of Science and Engineering for 7 years
About 20 entrance exam questions at national medical universities
National Chemistry Entrance Examination Questions for 4 Years (Approximately 150 Times 2016-2020)
Center test 1990-2021 (main test, additional test)
Chemistry and basic chemistry textbooks (Keirinkan, Suken Shuppan, Tokyo Shoseki, etc.) (to match the current course)

* 2021 is also being added.

We checked and changed the titles of these items, and added as much knowledge as possible that would lead to points in the entrance examination.
(Since it is sent from Twitter, please follow @kagaku_y_test)

I tried to match the arrangement as much as possible compared to the textbook. It can also be used for daily learning according to the lesson. (* The order of items may differ depending on the textbook.)
I've included as many terms as possible that are only found in some textbooks. It covers almost all the terms in the textbook.

The questions that check the definition of the word as needed to help with memory and comprehension are re-arranged immediately before and after.
Knowledge that can be used as a hint to derive the correct answer and knowledge that can be used as a hint to remember important items are also becoming problems.
(Since the commentary part is also a problem, if it is difficult to understand with just one question, please try to solve the problems before and after. If you have any questions, please ask on Twitter, email, blog comment, etc. App. There is a button on the settings page inside.)

Educational commentary is also added.

Example: Haber-Bosch process item
Fritz Haber (Germany) won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1918. Meanwhile, Carl Bosch (Germany) won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for other research and development in 1931.

○ Main usage
Basically, you will learn while solving the problem.

■ Confirmation test
Swipe left or right to see the next and previous issues. Tap to advance to the next problem. Select an option until the correct answer, and tap the option to proceed to the next question. You can also swipe to the next without answering correctly. In the confirmation test, I tried to do it manually instead of time so that I could proceed calmly and remember.

■ Test 15
It is a mini test by category (by field).
We will solve each question with a time limit of 20 seconds, and finally we will answer each other. Select once for each question, and the correct and incorrect answers will be displayed at the end of 15 questions or when you end halfway with the end button. The grades are scored, and the transition of the score becomes a graph and can be seen visually. In Test 15, the range of questions will be narrowed down, so you will be able to get a high score in a relatively short period of time by doing it. A mechanism close to the forgetting curve is adopted for the question interval and order.

■ List
You can see a list of questions and answers in the range of questions by category (by field).

■ Score
You can see the report cards of the category (field) test 15 and the diagnostic test (20 questions).

■ Diagnostic test (20 questions)
Same format as test 15. The diagnostic test covers that page. A mechanism close to the forgetting curve is adopted for the question interval and order.

■ Review list
A list is created for each menu page. Automatically add the wrong issue to the list

■ My list
A list is created for each menu page. From any screen after the test result, you can select it with the Check button and add it to My List. You can reinforce your weaknesses by listing what you want to remember and focusing on it.

■ Settings
· Ascending or shuffle
You can choose from questions in order, shuffled questions, and so on.
Test 15 and Diagnostic Test 25 questions will only be shuffled.

· You can choose the number of questions from 10 questions, 20 questions, and a loop.
The 15 questions on the test and the 25 questions on the diagnostic test are fixed at 15 and 25, respectively.

· Display choices
No cover when display is selected. If you select Hide, you can cover the options so that they are not immediately visible with a cover. Tap or swipe down to erase the cover.
For test 15 and diagnostic test 25 questions, the choices are always displayed.

· From the continuation or from the beginning
You can start from the continuation that you solved last time with the button from the continuation. You can go back to the first with the button from the beginning.

· Normal, Blue, Pink, Green are buttons to change the background color and text color.
The number of buttons that can be used will increase according to the number of tweets (number of shares shared by LINE or email), correct answer points, test 15, score in the diagnostic test, and the number of times the test is taken. For example, Blue is displayed by achieving one of 1 Tweet, 2000 Correct Answer Points, and 100 Score.
Five patterns are available for each of the four color schemes. Press the benzene ring mark on the upper right of the menu screen or setting screen to switch to 5 levels.
