POPGuide is an interactive destination, mapping and audio app that allows self-guided sightseeing experiences in over 150 cities worldwide. You can enjoy hundreds of points of interest and an array of fascinating itineraries in each city, all in offline mode.
· Geolocalization and navigation offline along the best walking, bus, tram and river routes.
· Distance and estimated travel time available, by foot or by car.
· Point of Interest audio commentary given by native actors portraying famous local historical figures.
· The audio commentary is a mix of fascinating storytelling, nit-bits of trivia you're unlikely to find anywhere else and historical information, and each piece lasts a maximum of 3 minutes.
· POPGuide is available in 6 languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Chinese)
Battery Usage Disclaimer:
The continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
While enjoying POPGuide outdoors, it will first track your current location then navigate you to the POIs of your choice. To avoid unnecessary GPS tracking draining your battery, make sure that you disable the location function of your device whenever appropriate.

In the app there is an option to listen to the guide describing the object but it is very inconvenient. While the phone is in the pocket the sound becomes a lot quieter. I would normally put my phone in my pocket and take a tour listening to the guide but the app unables me to do so. For some unknown reason app has an access to the light proximity sensor so every time i put my phone into pocket I cannot hear anything. If I have known this before i would choose another guide app.

We used this app to give us a tour around the Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome and we found the audio tour to not be in the correct order of the pathway and it was also not as in depth as I'd hoped. I wouldn't recommend. Just purchase the audio guide at the venue instead.

I downloaded the app. Every time I scan a qr code the app responds with a message that it needs to be updated and does not download the map or audio file. On playstore no update is available. App is useless on my phone which is a Samsung 22 Ultra.
