This app allows you to easily open an account with the Resona Group (Resona Bank, Saitama Resona Bank, Kansai Mirai Bank, Minato Bank) using your smartphone.
■How to Use
1. Download the app.
2. After entering your email address, a confirmation number will be automatically sent to your email address. Enter the confirmation number and proceed to the application.
3. Verify your identity by scanning your My Number card. (You can also take a photo of your driver's license or residence card.)
4. Enter and submit your customer information.
5. Receive your cash card (with Visa debit functionality).
*Delivery of your cash card will take approximately 2-3 weeks.
■Notes on Use
- Applications cannot be made for business transactions or transactions under a trade name or organization name.
- Non-residents are not eligible to apply.
・If you do not have a driver's license, My Number card, or residence card, you cannot apply using this app.
・Customers under the age of 15 cannot apply using this app.
・A signature electronic certificate password is required to open an account by scanning your My Number card.
・If applying with a residence card, you may be required to take a photo of your student ID, employee ID, or health insurance eligibility confirmation document.

It's easy to apply account.

Overall, the app is easy to use. The photo snapping is sometimes a little too fast; the app takes a picture of an ID card as soon as it recognizes something and not give it a few seconds to focus. My main complaint isn't with the app, but the fact that if you aren't a Japanese national, e.g., an American, you can't use the app to open an account. The app should've been programmed to vet users before having them going through the whole procedure and wasting their time.
