DungeonHiker v1.3.4
nekosukoAbout this app
DungeonHiker is a survival dungeon-crawling roguelike RPG that caters to fans of adventure games, offering a unique blend of exploration and strategy to escape from the deepest depths. While it has garnered a mixed user rating of 3.0, the app's small but dedicated user base and frequent updates suggest a developer committed to improvement. DungeonHiker stands out with its free-to-play model and in-app purchases, but its limited downloads and concerns over ad placement may deter some users. Compared to other Game Adventure category titles, DungeonHiker's roguelike elements and survival mechanics make it a compelling choice for players seeking a challenging experience.
Pros
- The app's free-to-play model with optional in-app purchases allows users to try before they buy, making it accessible to a wider audience.
- With a small download size and no required permissions, DungeonHiker is a lightweight option for devices with limited storage or security concerns.
- The developer's active update schedule and presence of a website and email contact suggest a commitment to user support and feedback incorporation.
- DungeonHiker's roguelike gameplay and survival elements provide a high replay value, challenging players to adapt and improve with each attempt.
- The absence of required permissions mitigates potential privacy and security risks, aligning with the app's simple yet engaging gameplay
Cons
- The mixed user rating and limited number of reviews suggest that DungeonHiker may not appeal to all players, potentially due to its challenging difficulty curve or ad placement.
- The in-app purchase model, while not excessively aggressive, may still deter players who prefer a one-time purchase or ad-free experience.
- The lack of information on the developer's data collection practices, despite the absence of required permissions, might raise concerns among privacy-conscious users.
- Device compatibility issues or bugs may exist, given the app's requirement for Android 6.0 or higher and the limited feedback from users.
Best for: The ideal user for DungeonHiker is a fan of adventure and role-playing games, likely between the ages of 18 and 40, with a medium to high level of technical skill, seeking a challenging yet rewarding experience with roguelike elements and survival mechanics, and who is willing to tolerate or work around the app's limitations and potential drawbacks.

This is pretty good! Collecting resources is interesting because they can be crafted into better cards or better equipment, with inventory space often forcing the decision under partial information. my only complaint is the text, its too slow at times and somewhat tedious to repeat. I see some light variations in some lore between runs, so maybe it'll end up useful and I'll have to eat my words
pretty cool retro style dungeon crawler RPG, eager to work on how I can build my deck better and to see more content as the game is improved on. Also, some very clear signs of open-beta/Indev type stuff, especially with random tags and formatting errors in dialog boxes. it's not game breaking though, and I know it'll be ironed out
