Sound quality is good. App shuts down and does not play in the background when I ask it to shut down by sliding it up. There haven't been many dropouts or glitches. Many other public radio stations should consider adopting this app for their own use.
I found same problem: After pausing the App, I left it on. It starts streaming again in about 4 hours, all by itself. This surprised me and caused embarrassment and annoyance. I have to remove it from the task Tab to disable it.
In addition to the annoyance of not being able to make it go away, if it happens to be running it makes a noise every time a new show starts... even if you don't have the stream going. It also seems to pop up a little test dialogue on the screen even when it's not running. It seems to stream fine for the most part for me. The live feed dies once every week or so when I'm listening for 30 minutes in the morning, but that's it.
This app still restarts the audio stream even if you didn't have it playing when you hangup a call if the app is still running the background. This has been a known issue for years and still unfixed and can cause some embarrassing moments when audio starts blasting after hanging up. Been an issue across three generations of Android phones.
The app works well enough but after the latest update in January 2023 there's no way to terminate the app. It just keeps running in the background even if you dismiss it, clear the notification, etc. If you dismiss its notification, it just comes back some time later. The only way I've found to actually stop it is to 'force quit'. I just checked and this app has consumed 15% of my phone's battery over the past day even though I only listened for a little over an hour. PLEASE FIX THIS!
