WatchGlucose vVARY
NdsSoftAbout this app
WatchGlucose solves the problem of convenient glucose monitoring for FreeStyle Libre users by displaying their readings directly on a Wear OS watch, benefiting individuals with diabetes who value ease of access to their health data. Compared to other medical apps, WatchGlucose stands out with its specialized functionality but falls short in terms of overall ratings and downloads, indicating potential areas for improvement. Its niche focus makes it a valuable tool for a specific audience, despite not being a broadly applicable solution. The app's simple, ad-free design is a notable advantage, suggesting a user-centric approach.
Pros
- WatchGlucose offers a unique and specialized feature set tailored to FreeStyle Libre users, providing them with a convenient and accessible way to monitor their glucose levels directly from their Wear OS watch.
- The app is free and does not contain ads, which enhances the user experience by eliminating distractions and ensuring that the focus remains on health monitoring.
- With no in-app purchases, the app's functionality is fully available without additional costs, making it a straightforward and financially transparent option for users.
- The developer's decision to not request any permissions suggests a commitment to user privacy and security, which is crucial for a medical app handling sensitive health data.
- The simplicity of the app, with its focused feature set, likely contributes to efficient performance and minimal battery drain, making it a practical choice for daily use.
Cons
- The mixed user rating of 3.0/5 indicates some level of dissatisfaction among users, which could be due to various factors such as app reliability, user interface, or the lack of certain features that users find essential.
- The relatively low number of downloads, despite being a specialized app, might suggest limited awareness or a narrow user base, which could impact the developer's ability to gather feedback and improve the app.
- The absence of a comprehensive developer website (with the provided link leading to a Facebook group instead) might raise concerns about the availability of detailed support, documentation, or community engagement, which are important for a medical app.
- The lack of a clear update history or frequency could leave users uncertain about the app's long-term support and whether it will continue to be compatible with future Wear OS updates or FreeStyle Libre devices.
Best for: The ideal user for WatchGlucose is an individual with diabetes who uses a FreeStyle Libre glucose monitoring system and owns a Wear OS compatible smartwatch, values convenience in monitoring their glucose levels, and prefers a straightforward, ad-free app experience with a focus on privacy and ease of use.
Developer Description
Show a FreeStyle Libre user's glucose readings on a watch with Wear OS
Install WatchGlucose on both your watch and your phone. Start the app on your watch. Then start the app on your phone and follow the instructions.
Two WatchGlucose watch faces are available on Google Play, one analog and one digital. You can select background and text color.
Swipe left on a watch face to show a tile with your 12-hour glucose history.
The watch app fetches the glucose readings from a server over the Internet, not directly from the sensor. The app should not be used for treatment decisions or dosing decisions.
Privacy
Given that WatchGlucose does not request any permissions, it appears to prioritize user privacy. However, users should still be cautious about how their health data is stored and potentially shared, especially if syncing with other health apps or services. It's advisable to review any available privacy policies from the developer and understand how data is handled.
Tips
For optimal use, users should ensure their Wear OS device and FreeStyle Libre system are compatible and updated. Setting up the app involves pairing the FreeStyle Libre with the watch, and users should refer to the app's documentation or the developer's Facebook group for support. Additionally, users can explore the app's settings to customize notifications and data display to their preferences, enhancing their overall monitoring experience.

Fantastic for diabetics Just link up to a Libre Link Up account and get real time blood glucose readings on your watch. So much easier than looking at the phone and brings a sense of normality to life. Thank you so much for this app!
Finally an app that works on Watch 7! 2 days trying to get Juggluco and Gluroo working. Nothing. 5 mins and this worked. Just wish faces were better, mainly bigger font.
This watch face doesn't sense and give glucose readings but needs a sensor attached to body and thru LibreLinkUp app.... I thought the watch senses and gives reading thru itself.
Wish I could use with Dexcom G7
Says it keeps checking the server with no response, uninstalled.
