*What we offer*
MEET LOCAL PEOPLE LIKE YOU
Connect with people who share a similar loss experience to you. Browse our member directory and connect via moderated groups, one-on-one chats, or our weekly events.
SUPPORT GROUPS TO SHARE STORIES
Join support groups and realise that everything you’re going through is normal. Send messages any time of day or night, there’s always someone to listen. Share stories in our live weekly video and audio calls - they’re like peer therapy.
PRIVATE CHAT HELPLINE
Get help from real humans anytime through our private chat helpline. Our team is like your companion, always on-hand to talk if you feel low, or assist you with everything from registering the death to applying for time off work.
GET EXPERT ADVICE
Every week we host live video events with bereavement experts, so you can learn about grief and ask questions. There’s also a library of articles and videos to help you with every step of the way, from the first weeks to ten year anniversary.
SAFE MODERATED COMMUNITY
Your safety is really important so we moderate the community. Grief can make you feel like everything is pointless or you don’t want to be here anymore. Whilst we’re not a crisis service, we do have a specially trained team to spot and support people who are feeling very low.
SELECTED SERVICES FOR YOU
Whatever you need help with, our team can match you to the right expert to help. We work with carefully selected partners such as funeral directors, account/asset locators, therapists, solicitors, house removers, financial advisors. This is a paid-for service, and how we are able to offer everything else for free.
*Run by real people, backed by experts*
The Untangle team is supported by some of the UK’s leading bereavement specialists, psychotherapists, probate lawyers and funeral directors.
We’re a small and friendly team. Our support chats are run by real humans who are happy to help you.
Untangle is backed by Innovate UK.

I am a young widow living abroad (for now). The biggest issue I deal with is isolation. I have found a foothold in the Untangle community. It helps normalize the devastating loss, the same way a bereavement group would. It's both a forum (social media, organized loosely by topic), and they host regular zoom meetups. I see some reviews saying that they should not charge- but it is a service with monitoring, good responsiveness, ability to share photos/videos, and links to professional resources.
Easy to navigate and very friendly group of people on there. My only criticism is that if you have lost more than one loved one, there isn't any way to record more than one date.
I would love to join however I can't afford to even pay for the trial at this time I lost my son January 23rd I lost my husband December 2018
This app is a lovely idea, and i'm sure it helps lots of people. However, you shouldn't have to pay for resources or to get help. I was so excited to find an app where I could relate to people and cope, then I saw I had to pay and immediately uninstalled.
I was hopeful when I found this app for grief support, but I was quickly let down. To access any helpful content, you have to pay for a subscription. It feels wrong to capitalize on people's vulnerabilities like that. I expected better.
