The Pie app is a game changer in self assessment tax returns. Its incredibly easy to work with, you can upload your receipts, expenses on the go to store them, which eliminates that end of year, rummaging around trying to find paperwork. Found the whole setting up and working within the app so simple. If needed, the customer support, who were very friendly and knowledgeable, were always there to help. Having used many accounting software platforms, I found Pie App to be the best.

*** Review update *** After initialy testing the app not gonna lie, it had had some major bugs, However after giving feedback, the developers actually got incontact and reassured me that they were working to fix the glitches and with the recent update it has improved substantially. I am now considering ditching Quickbooks and Freeagent due to its ease and user interfa... They genuinely seem to care about providing an excellent service build on trust and given the nature of finance this is key..

I am a paying customer who has paid ~96 quid for the annual subscription and ~60 for the tax check and send services to file my self assessment return for FY22-23. The app is fairly easy to use and is updated frequently (was actively using it - around Dec/ Jan). Customer svc is fairly responsive. At the time of writing I could not add income streams like rental, foreign income, etc. Nor can I file for my spouse who has identical filing. The app is in early stages. Accountant was top notch.

I'm not a paying customer, but I must say that the customer support is amazing. They really try their best to help you out. However, the app is full of bugs. I won't list my odyssey of issues I had with this app, but believe me when I say that it has bugs pretty much everywhere. I love the idea, but at the moment, it's impossible to use from my end

I was looking forward to trying this app to complete my self assessment tax return, but immediately lost faith in it when it told me my postcode was not valid. On top of that, I couldn't enter my full address, and when I tried to edit the address it entered the details backwards! Shame, as others give it good reviews, but I don't think I could trust it with something as important as my tax return.
