The Discovery app provides a convenient way to access your information

Discovery Health:
Check the details of your Discovery Health Plan benefits and Medical Savings Account. View your most recent healthcare service claim details, search through 12 months’ claims, view your approved cover for chronic conditions and track benefit usage. Search for a healthcare professional and view your health record. Compare the prices of medicines and their generic alternatives and view a summary of hospital claims.

Some of the Discovery Health features include:
• Care Programmes for managing chronic conditions
• The Emergency assist feature for quick access to emergency care
• Tools for tracking, managing and uploading health records
• Tools for mental health support, counselling services and addiction recovery programmes
• Medicine tracker to manage prescribed medicine

Discovery Vitality:
See your Vitality points and status, track your Vitality Active Rewards goal and more.

Some of the Vitality features include:
• Activity and fitness: Tracking steps, speed and heart rate
• Nutrition and weight management: Vitality HealthyWeight
• Sleep management: Tracking your sleep
• Stress management, relaxation, mental acuity: Tracking mindfulness

DiscoveryCard:
View your transactions, account balance and last statement, as well as your Discovery Miles, smart shopper points or cashback balance.

Discovery Insure:
View your policy details, view your Vitality Drive points, status and other driving information, and request emergency assistance. Take a picture of your car after an accident and send it to us to start the claims process. Search for the nearest bp service station or Tiger Wheel & Tyre outlet. Link your Gautrain card to get up to 50% of your spend back. Request a personal driver or taxi service.

Discovery Life:
View all your policy information.

Discovery Invest:
View your portfolio, including fund balances, and request to have a relevant document emailed to you.

Members of the following medical schemes will also have access to their scheme information: MMED, Naspers, LA Health, Tsogo, TFG, Quantum, Remedi, Anglovaal, Retail Medical Scheme, UKZN, BMW, Malcor, Wits and SABMAS.

The application is available for anyone to download, but you have to be a Discovery member with at least one active Discovery product and must register on the Discovery website (www.discovery.co.za) before you can log in to the Discovery app. You will use the same username and password for this app as for the Discovery website.

Would rate the app better if functionality was more consistent. I look forward to redeeming my "reward" almost weekly after achieving my weekly exercise goals BUT the last two time I went to choose my reward , the vouchers have immediately disappeared. What now? Update: Changing my review to 5 stats after receiving world class service from the agents via the Ask Discovery WhatsApp chat. They found my missing rewards and send me the voucher codes at 9pm - now that's service!

Samsung Health Data stopped syncing after last update and customer help service took forever to get back to me. Eventually, I figured out that I needed to clear my phone's cache partition by starting the phone in recovery mode (you can google how it is done). This gets rid of data which accumulates in the phone's cache partition. I wish Discovery customer service had been knowledgable about this quite easy fix. Lots of time and nerves could have been saved.

Every time I press back in the app, it takes me back to the home screen istead of just one page back. It's really annoying. My poinst take forever to update as well. I have to go into the app and update it myself.

I'm so frustrated every time I use this app. it's so irritating to navigate, it feels like it's trying to be intuitive but then just stops. just trying to find how to take my vitality age assessment I had to watch a YouTube video. Not to mention that it keeps signing me out and not saving my information when I ask it to save biometric login. And sometimes when you tap on an option you have to keep tapping until it decides to work.

I have not even been able to access the app at all. It does not allow me to set up a profile and reports errors in setting up OTP channel buy with no option to fix it. It seems to be a trend among certain companies to promise the world in benefits and services but make it as hard as humanly possible to access those services. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still no change. Definitely not a good start with Discovery.
