If you're a expert investor, this isn't for you. But if you're an existing CommBank customer, with a savings account (earning no interest), this is a great, easy, reliable, option. Easy for beginners. My top tip is to wait until you have approx $1000, then buy. This is because there's a $2 charge for each transaction up to $1000 - so 10x $100 purchases will cost you $20 in fees, compared to 1x $1000 purchase for $2.

App good, application too restrictive. When you compare this to Stake, it's decades behind due to the scope of the App. You can't pick which shares you want to buy! You can only choose categories of shares. It blows my mind that I can buy shares with $0 fee in the US but it costs me $10 per trade in Australia (where I actually live).

I understand it's basic and for beginners but it feels almost like a scam, buy 'shares' and all you get is a value on the home screen with how much it's gained/lost. No history, no graphs, no details, nothing.

You're required to open a Commbank transaction account which comes with a monthly fee of $4 a month. Unfortunate, because it was sounding like a great way to get into investing and the other fees seem reasonable.
